Artist's Statement - Ingrid Haydon
Some of Ingrid Haydon's earliest memories are of painting and drawing around North Sydney with her mother, Ingrid Rayner who was a well known Sydney artist.
Having won a scholarship to East Sydney Tech at 16, Ingrid studied painting and drawing under Godfrey Miller and David Strachan. Further studies were undertaken at the Heatherley Art School in London. She continued her studies back in Australia at City Art Institute in 1982 where Kevin Connor and Ann Thompson were the main influences. Ingrid has been selected for the Sulman exhibition AGNSW and the Dobell prize for drawing.
Her extensive exhibition history includes Penrith Regional Gallery, Chapman Gallery Canberra, Access Contemporary Art Gallery Sydney, Katoomba Fine Art, and Heals Gallery, London.
Ingrid is represented in Artbank, United Airlines Singapore and numerous collections in Australia and overseas.
